Here’s what our RN Susan has to say about her experience working in places like Burra, Norfolk Island and Wudinna with YNA:
“It’s been nearly 12 months of working for YNA and oh my goodness what an absolutely wonderful life I have now!!!
Working with a fantastic team – Anne-Marie, Hayley and Genevieve who send me to places such as Wallaroo, Yorktown, Wudinna, Elliston, Streaky Bay, Balaclava, Mannum, Quorn and the ever so beautiful Norfolk Island!!!!
From doing outpatient pathology, working in acute, emergency and aged care. Life is never dull. Have always been made to feel part of the team and made some great friends in all the rural places I have been. I am so lucky that I have never had a problem. The only negative about being a rural nurse is that when I am home my bedroom is full of bags from travelling as I am never home long enough to unpack properly!
If you are not into the politics and want to feel appreciated and needed then being a rural nurse is the job to have!!!
If you want to get out and explore our beautiful country and get paid, working the hours you want, then this is the way to do it.
So glad my dream came true of being a rural nurse and being part of an incredible and supportive team at YNA!!!”
