New NDIS rules are coming for SIL & platform-based providers

F

rom 1 July 2026, new NDIS requirements will mean that SIL (Supported Independent Living) providers and platform-based disability service providers must be registered with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission to continue operating.

If a current provider is not registered by this date, they may no longer be legally able to deliver SIL supports under the NDIS.

That could mean:

  • Disruption to a participant’s daily supports
  • Changes to a participant’s living arrangements
  • Loss of continuity with support workers
  • Stress and uncertainty for participants and families

Now is the time to plan ahead to ensure supports remain safe, compliant, and uninterrupted.
