Job Description

As a Care Worker at YNA, you will have the opportunity to provide compassionate care within a variety of aged care settings, including residential facilities and community environments in Cairns and nearby areas. We prioritize matching you with placements that align with your skillset and personal preferences. Effective communication skills are essential to meet the diverse needs of our clients, ensuring a high standard of care and support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide personal care and assistance to elderly clients in accordance with their care plans.
  • Support clients with activities of daily living, including grooming, bathing, and mobility assistance.
  • Foster a supportive and respectful environment for clients, promoting their independence and wellbeing.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of client care activities and report any changes in client condition to supervisors promptly.
  • Collaborate effectively with other healthcare professionals and family members to ensure comprehensive care delivery.

What you will bring to the role

  • Cert III or Cert IV in Aged Care / Individual Support
  • 6 months paid experience
  • Strong verbal & communication skills
  • Current police clearance or willingness to apply
  • Having a current Driver’s License and owning a car with comprehensive insurance can be advantageous.
